My Story

As some or most of you probably know, I have had epilepsy for almost a decade. 

Some of you probably don't know, less than 50% of adults with epilepsy respond to medication, and unfortunately I am not one of that lucky number. 

For those of you who don't know me - I'm 28 years old, and was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2015, while in my first year of college. Epilepsy impacts every aspect of my life in ways you may not even think about. There are days where I can't even make myself a cup of tea without the fear of a seizure. Seizures can happen at any moment, causing me to live life with constant fear. Despite that, I try to stay positive and hopeful that I can someday make that cup of tea without having to worry about seizures!

After trying lots of different treatments it has finally come to a point where brain surgery is my only chance at having a seizure free life. 

So, I am using this opportunity to raise money for Beaumont Hospital Neurology and Neurosurgery Departments to help further improve their services and patient care. 

Myself, James and anyone else who wants to join in will be shaving our heads (Yes, you heard that right) to raise money for this really worthwhile cause. 

The head shave will take place at Hair by Anne O'Gorman (world's greatest hair salon) in Ballybofey, Co. Donegal on the 17th of August.
